BZB Avionics

The Boomie Zoomie B avionics bay architecture was designed by the previous avionics lead, however their design relied on the use of an SD card for recording in flight data. This led to inconsistent sampling rates as well as the possibility of the SD card being disconnected in flight. I brought this up and selected and integrated an onboard flash chip over the course of two weeks. This change allowed the software team to safely log data in flight while both increasing the sample rate but also eliminating the inconsistency in sampling rate.

on board video

The Boomie Zoomie B onboard video system was the first system I entirely owned from the ground up. Using two run cam split fours it was meant to record 4k video looking out at the horizon from the vehicle and looking down the length of the rocket. Unfortunately, due to issues with the power system it failed to record video in flight despite finding no issues during testing.
